Nocturnes for a Harp, with dedication to the Empress Marie Louise

Nocturnes pour Harpe dédié à l’mpératrice Marie-Louise

Nocturnes pour Harp

Naderman

Circa 1815

30 x 23cm

This book, bearing Napoleon's Imperial arms, is made up of several 'Nocturnes' by the composer Joseph Naderman with dedications to the Empress Marie Louise. It would appear that after the fall of the empire this book was made utilising a book from Napoleon’s library.

The imperial coat of arms and other imperial symbols were covered by Naderman, who was then musical director to Louis XVIII, but Napoleon's arms can now be seen again.
